Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation, which uses peaceful, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future.
According to the Paris Agreement Compatible Scenario, in order to keep global warming under the 1.5C coal needs to be phased out by 2030 and gas by 2035 in the EU and OECD. Thanks to persistent campaigns run by Greenpeace and the broader climate movement, coal is being gradually phased out from the power sector and industry. However, false solutions such as gas are being lobbied for by the fossil fuel sector.
