Digital Engagement Specialist

Job description

Greenpeace CEE is looking for a Digital Engagement Specialist to join its team in Slovenia/Ljubljana.

The position is limited from May 6th 2019 to April 30th 2020 and is located in Ljubljana/Slovenia.

This full time position is split into 50% for co-development and implementation of digital engagement campaigns of GP Slovenia and 50% for digital content coordination of CEE Regional online fundraising team among 3-5 CEE Local offices. The position holder reports to the Office Director of GP Slovenia and CEE Head of Fundraising Operations.


Responsibilities & tasks:

Work for Greenpeace Slovenia

  • Working closely with campaigners in order to plan, develop and implement creative digital engagement and fundraising strategies across different campaigns;

  • Creating professional social multimedia content (e.g. macros, video scripts);

  • Coordinating and monitoring Facebook content;

  • Analyzing social media performance across channels (FB, TW, INST, YOUTUBE);

  • Copywriting (supporter emails, landing pages, social media posts...);

  • Keeping up with latest social media industry trends and innovation, and proposing new social media solutions, tools, tactics, etc. to meet campaign  objectives;

  • Co-developing and organizing offline events.

Work for CEE Regional online fundraising team

  • Coordinating regional digital engagement pushes;

  • Coordinates preparation for digital materials, control quality of materials designed by third parties or volunteers and make sure materials are in line with agreed campaign communication framework;

  • Co-creating overall project strategy with a particular focus on generating leads and recruit new regular and one-off donors;

  • Copywriting (supporter emails, landing pages, social media posts...);

  • Has overview of content for engagement pushes: understands content, organizes Q&A, offers content support to local staff in regards to campaign;

  • Helping with the development of messaging for the defined target audiences;

  • Assessing the project's main target audiences and determining how they can best be reached;

  • Analyze the risks for the organization in use of the project strategies and tactics.


Job requirements:

  • Understanding of the digital communications landscape and how it influences social discourse;
  • Excellent English;
  • Understanding of social media analytics tools and able to learn from the data;
  • Organizational competencies: professionalism, achievement-orientation, interpersonal relationship;
  • Knowledge sharing, values diversity and innovation;
  • Good skills in written and verbal communication;
  • Basic knowledge of online engagement tools and graphic design or willingness to learn;
  • Knowledge and experience of managing budget;
  • Cooperative, proactive, creative and flexible in finding solutions to problems;
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload in a busy environment;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative;
  • Ability to keep calm and deliver under time pressure;
  • A high standard of written and verbal English communication skills including good copy writing skills;
  • Understanding of and familiarity with email, social media, with a strong interest in digital trends
